CLAN Bungee Seatronics
Staff members from an oil services company in Aberdeen are jumping into fundraising when they take part in Scotland’s highest charity leap.
Colleagues from Seatronics, an Acteon company, a subsea marine electronic equipment specialist, have agreed to brave the bounce at the annual CLAN bungee jump, which this year is double the drop as in 2018.
The courageous participants will be rewarded with a bird’s eye view of Aberdeen as they prepare themselves to jump off the platform 300 feet above the ground.
The CLAN Brave the Bounce bungee jump will take place on Saturday, June 29 2019, from 9am – 7pm, at Aberdeen Beach Boulevard.
Adrenaline lovers Sean Demanuele and Christine Shannon agreed to take part in the event as part of Seatronics’ ongoing support of CLAN Cancer Support.
Lauren Forgie, group marketing lead for Seatronics commented: “CLAN has supported Seatronics employees and their families who have been affected by cancer and so we are delighted to be part of the 2019 bungee jump.
“We have taken part in previous CLAN events and the team is always very happy to help to raise money to help CLAN to continue providing the important support it does across the north-east of Scotland.
“Our colleague Brian Milne previously underwent treatment for cancer, and our group HR manager, Morag Ormiston volunteers at CLAN so we have a close relationship with the charity.
“We have organised a number of fundraising activities at our Aberdeen office to support the jump, and we will be there on June 29, to watch and cheer on our colleagues.”
Ruth McIntosh, CLAN fundraising co-ordinator, said: “We are thrilled that the Seatronics team is taking part in the bungee jump. The 300ft drop is not for the faint-hearted, however there are a number of corporate teams who are looking forward to this unique experience.
“This is the first time a bungee jump of this scale has been available in Scotland, so we encourage other courageous Aberdonians to sign up now.”
People from 14 – 114 are invited to experience the closest thing to human flight, to raise money for CLAN, which provides cancer support to people across the north-east who are affected by cancer.
Online registration for the Brave the Bounce 2019 is open at www.clanhouse.org. There is a £40 registration fee, and participants are asked to set themselves a £80 sponsorship target.
CLAN Cancer Support is an independent charity which provides comfort, support and information, free of charge, for anyone, of any age, affected by any type of cancer. CLAN aims to support people to reduce anxiety, stress and to increase their ability to cope with the effects of a serious illness. CLAN supports those who have a cancer diagnosis, as well as their friends and family members.
