Who are your customers?
We work with businesses across many sectors including energy, oil and gas, aviation, building services, healthcare, local authorities, transportation, hospitality and manufacturing amongst others.
What is the biggest challenge and opportunity your organisation is facing right now?
The biggest challenge we are facing at Tullos Training is the uncertainty within companies in the North-east of Scotland caused by the windfall tax and downturn in the oil and gas industry. As companies become uncertain, we have recognised that this often causes a reduction in training budgets.
What is your word of advice for fellow Chamber members?
Invest in the future with apprenticeships. Apprentice recruitment is a crucial part of reducing the skills shortage and future proofing a business. When recruiting apprentices for your business we would recommend that employers start their recruitment process as early as possible to ensure their recruitment goes to plan. Employers must also remember to plan for the support and mentorship an apprentice will require throughout their Modern Apprenticeship programme.
Seeing an apprentice grow from entry level to fully qualified in their role is a rewarding feeling not only for the company but the apprentice, their mentor and their training provider.
