One of Scotland’s fastest-growing live events and production companies has reached a major financial milestone, achieving £1million in turnover for the first time.

Founder and Managing Director Adam Wilson launched PCL Live in Aberdeen in 2022, just as the events industry was beginning to bounce back from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Despite those early challenges, the business has quickly built a reputation for delivering high-quality event production, installation, staging, and technical services across the UK.

After a record 12 months – which included working with Dragons’ Den stars Steven Bartlett and Sara Davies – sales have topped seven figures.

The firm was also named as one of the winners at last month’s Northern Star Business Awards, picking up the customer service award.

From humble beginnings in Aberdeenshire, the business now operates across the whole of the UK and is positioning itself for further growth in the months ahead.

To support this, Alex Sherman has been promoted to Commercial Director to help lead the company’s expansion strategy.

The firm is also launching the Pathways programme to help train and inspire the next generation of audio-visual professionals.

Mr Wilson said: “Reaching £1million in turnover is a huge moment for us. What started as a lockdown business has grown into one of the UK’s most agile and ambitious AV companies. That success is down to our brilliant team, our loyal clients and our belief in always delivering above expectations.

“We’ve invested heavily in our people and our kit, and that’s allowed us to compete with – and often outperform – larger firms. And we’re just getting started. With Alex stepping into the Commercial Director role and our new Pathways programme launching, we’re setting the business up for long-term success.”

Since day one, all profit generated has been reinvested into the business – more than £500,000 to date – to ensure PCL Live remains at the cutting edge of audio-visual technology and service delivery.

That investment has already paid off, with PCL Live delivering technical production and installation for a range of major projects and events across the UK.

Notable installations include a world-first 163” LED touchscreen video wall; a complete AV fit-out for Opportunity North East’s flagship SeedPod food and drink innovation hub; and three major control room installations kicking off across Scotland, all utilising cutting edge large format LED video walls.

On the events side, the team played a key role behind the scenes at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s Ultimate Masterclass Festival, which has featured Davina McCall and Gary Neville in previous years, and will soon bring filmmaker Louis Theroux and television star James Corden to Aberdeen.

As part of its expanding portfolio, PCL Live has also diversified into the delivery of Emergency Response Solutions, supporting clients in sectors where real-time communication, safety, and operational resilience are critical.

Using its technical production expertise, the company designs and installs fully integrated control rooms, mobile command units, and emergency response systems tailored to the needs of public sector bodies, utilities, critical infrastructure operators, and large-scale event organisers.

Mr Wilson added: “This is a natural evolution for us. Our team has decades of combined experience in live production and broadcast, and we’re now applying that knowledge to environments where clarity, speed and reliability can make a real difference – whether that’s in a stadium, a city-wide incident control centre or a temporary emergency response hub.”
