Businesses in Aberdeen and the North-east are being invited to an event being held by the University of Aberdeen that aims to demonstrate the value of partnering with the University to support innovation.
The event taking place at the Chester Hotel on March 15 will raise awareness of the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, which is funded by Innovate UK* and offers companies opportunities to collaborate with the University to achieve their business ambitions.
Called ‘Bridging the Gap: how partnering with the University of Aberdeen can help your business evolve’, it will feature case studies from successful projects where academia and industry have worked together to solve challenges. It will include networking opportunities and a presentation led by Dr Ian Heywood from Innovate UK KTN and Kelly Fraser from the North of Scotland KTP Centre.
Professor Peter Edwards, Vice Principal for Regional Engagement at the University of Aberdeen, will host and introduce the event, which takes place from 4.30 – 7.30pm and will include complimentary food and beverages.
He said: “At the University of Aberdeen we have a proud record of partnerships with industry leading to novel solutions that benefit businesses, utilising our world-class research capabilities across a range of disciplines.
“Through the partnerships we offer to companies through the KTP scheme, we are at the forefront of cutting-edge research that promotes economic growth, and this event is a great opportunity for businesses to come and learn more about the great results that can be achieved when industry and academia work together.”
