Comment on Treasury oil and gas support

Commenting on Danny Alexander’s announcement of government support for the oil and gas industry today as part of the Autumn Statement, research & policy director at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) James Bream said:

“Oil and gas operators have told us that the current fiscal regime is unpredictable, unnecessarily complex and simply too burdensome.

Commenting on the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement, membership director at Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce (AGCC) Liam Smyth said:

“The Chancellor’s announcement of a reduction of 2% in the North Sea Supplementary Charge shows the industry has his attention, so we welcome his announcement that Danny Alexander will be in Aberdeen tomorrow to set out the UK Government’s full proposals to assist the oil and gas industry in the face of the falling oil price.
