The role of Generative Artificial Intelligence in marketing was hotly debated at a thought-provoking networking workshop hosted by Instinct Marketing + PR and the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) last month.

The AI – Marketing Villain or Hero? event held at the Aberdeen Science Centre on April 24, attracted marketers and business owners keen to explore AI's role in the future of marketing. Due to popular demand, Instinct has announced a follow-up event scheduled for June 5.

The event was designed to highlight the capabilities of AI and how it can be used responsibly to enhance rather than detract from effective marketing. Led by Debbie Rennie, Managing Director of Instinct Marketing + PR, the event explored practical applications and sparked lively discussions about AI’s potential to enhance marketing efforts rather than replace human creativity.

Attendees left the workshop equipped with actionable insights on integrating AI tools into their marketing efforts, affirming the technology's role as a valuable ally.

"Generative AI is not just a technological advancement; it’s a marketing opportunity waiting to be harnessed," said Debbie.

“While AI can't replicate the emotive storytelling skills of humans, it can certainly boost productivity and strategic insights. AI is here, and we can either choose to embrace and lead or watch and risk falling behind. It’s evolving at speed and we’re keen to share how businesses and marketers can use it to their advantage. Encouraged by the positive feedback and demand, we’ve decided to run the event again in June.”

Scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, 10am to 12pm, at the Aberdeen Science Centre the workshop will build on the initial event, incorporating additional case studies and insights.
